Website Announcements / FSP main VoIP
« on: February 28, 2019, 11:43:43 »
After a lot of consideration, the Admin Team has reached a decision regarding FSP main VoIP.

This decision was made by the Admin Team instead of a form of public decision for different reasons.
  • A public poll in any shape or size could be affected by inactive users, giving us an unrealistic picture of what's preferred on FSP.
  • The idea of commanders picking the platform that he/she wish to command on isn't necessarily bad. However, we don't think it would help the community to run 2 platforms as a public service, because of the clear split it adds. It therefore fell short on votes among the Admins.
It therefore came down to either Discord or TeamSpeak only as main VoIP.

After the meeting Saturday night, we believe both platforms would be welcomed as a main VoIP. We are aware that some might feel excluded by the decision no matter what it would be, so we picked the one that we believe would give us the best chance of success as a unified community, working with present and future links.

Discord vs TS?
It's hard to compare the 2 platforms, because of the major differentness.
In order to reach a conclusion, we had to look at the platforms individually and see what they each would bring to the table if we picked them.
Based on that, Discord had by far the most advances for the community.
The option of keeping Discord as forum only and use TS as VoIP was discussed, but it would again mean using 2 different platforms for text and voice communication.

Result:
Platforms:
  • FSP Discord - main VoIP.
  • FSP TS will be removed.
Events:
  • Any events organized by guilds can be hosted on whatever platform they wish to use except FSPG TS.
  • Commanders should be encouraged to use Discord for open tags.
We want to stress that this is not set in stone and could be altered as we go along if needed.

The changes will be added within the next few days.

Hey!

I added your guild on the Guild Index but i only see 2 players in it as you can see here http://farshiverpeaks.com/index.php?action=guilds;name=Turkish+United+Players

I gave you powers to edit the guild page if needed.

Since we have the 10+ roster rule (http://farshiverpeaks.com/index.php?topic=1505.0) i need to see a screenshot or that you get your members to register on the forum so get your roster size up on the guild page.

Throw me an ingame msg, forum msg or ts msg and we'll sort it out :)

Website Announcements / Upcoming changes on TS
« on: August 27, 2015, 22:16:33 »
Upcoming changes that will be activated on Team Speak:
  • FSP Server Group icon have been removed and be "Blank" for now.
  • Permissions to add users to FSP Server Group will be removed from ALL server groups except for Admins on SUNDAY 30/8-15
  • Guild Server Groups will no longer give access to the WvW channels, everyone will have to verify themselves on TUESDAY 1/9-15
  • FSP Server Group will be reset on THURSDAY 3/9-15

Permissions to add users to server group will be removed because:
  • We want everyone to be verified.
  • If they get the server group manually, they'll lose their access when they log off.
  • The chances of spies will be reduced massively.
Please ask if you have any questions.

Website Announcements / Teamspeak Verification Through the Website
« on: August 08, 2015, 22:41:45 »
You can now verify yourself on our Teamspeak server using the GW2 API

How does it work?
Once you log onto Teamspeak, you will be greeted with a message containing a unique link that will link your Teamspeak user with your Forum user. This means your access to teamspeak will be linked with your access to the website that currently uses the GuildWars2 API for that.

For a more detailed description, see Help: Teamspeak Integration

Do you get access to my username and password?
No, the only information available through the standard permissions from an API Key is
Code: [Select]
Account Info
 - Account ID
 - Display Name (example: test.1234)
 - World ID
 - Your Guilds

If you have ever used any of the other services, utilizing the GuildWars2 Authenticated API, this is exactly the same.

But i already have access?
If you already have access, you will not see this message and you will keep you access for the time being while the system is being evaluated

So i don't ever have to do this?
Eventually, manual assignment of the FSP Servergroup will be phased out completely in favor of this new automatic system, maybe finally get rid of some of the spies we have had lately?

Before "selling ourself" as a new home for a NA guild, could you maybe tell something about the guild you're in ? - Currently as a server, we're in a spot we want to be in (bumping up and down between 3-5 place) and where we're "lacking" is night time / morning which is what keeps us in the spot we wanna be. If we gain too many NA players/ night players, we will rise to a level that we didn't wanted to go to. So this is really important to know - how many people are we talking about here?

You are more than welcome to contact me ingame - goldibird.6375 or poke me on TeamSpeak - [SOUL] Goldi Server Admin.
I will be happy to answer your questions.
