I changed the expiration time to 5 days if the error ErrBadData (the error that usually pop up when anet screws up) is detected instead of 1 day as before when it encountered any issue like invalid keys

This should give anet enough time to fix issues with their API, even if they push updates on Fridays (which they should really stop with)

See http://farshiverpeaks.com/index.php?topic=1457.msg10190#msg10190

Btw Raven Tunai, i checked your key and it actually says it is invalid, unlike every other key which is "Err bad data" so you might have to update that key again as it seems you typed it in incorrectly or deleted it, unless that error is also a side effect of the broken API. BUT DON'T DO IT NOW, or it will try and verify it now and remove your access while the API is down.

I'll work on something later this week that will disable the removal process if it detects an unusual high amounts of invalid keys. Just never figured anet would release so many broken updates

Again, not my fault

I will extend the expiration time while they are working on it

Btw the reason for having to name your API key a specific name, is because API keys are not worth anything when it comes to authenticity.

For instance, multiple people from other servers have tried to register their accounts with this websites, meaning i personally have access to multiple totally valid API keys that will tell any given website i am from, etc. Desolation that happens to use the API without enforcing API naming.

Have you used your API key on any other website? in which case, what prevents those websites from using your API key to gain access to FSP?

This issue was one of the main reasons why i didn't like the API key system compared to the old OAuth where you just logged in

Also anyone still got issues?

I just re-ran the authentication process and there is now 319 FSP members. My best guess would be that there have been some prolonged issues with the API when the server re-authenticated last time around, though it could be something else, still looking though.

you don't have access to those when not authenticated, just tested to make sure

Everyone had this issue? not really sure what is going on, as 273 members are still authenticated, just for reference, that was around the same as before i did the change (slightly more).

Did you still have access to the forums restricted areas and it was only the Authenticate widget that told you otherwise?

I also see players still authenticated with the old API keys. For reference, it will enforce the name restriction once you either register the API key or change it, so unless you did either, it was not supposed to happen

At the upcoming reset today, the old authentication process will no longer work and anyone who have not switch over to the API Key system will have to re-authenticate.

You do not have to do this now and can do it when ever you want, however you will lose access to the restricted parts of the forum after reset tonight and will only regain access once you re-authenticate using the API Key system

For help, see Help: Authentication

If you want to know why this is happening, see Heads Up - Authorization Process Changes

If you have any issues, feel free to ask for help in this thread, as you do not need restricted access to post in this thread

Im not saying you're hacking me or anything or I would not have authenticated again.
Just needed to disconnect anything I had authorized on my acc.
NP i just made the post a little detailed in case i have to answer a similar question like this later :)

Anyway i should probobly give you the standard recommendation of changing your password (even though i never follow that advice myself XD )

I can say that there is nothing on the site that will allow us to get access to your account login information

However you don't have to trust me on that, you can verify for yourself

First lets look at the information you give us

Quote
/v2/account currently gets you four basic pieces of information.
  • The user has a GW2 account
  • User
