At the upcoming reset today, the old authentication process will no longer work and anyone who have not switch over to the API Key system will have to re-authenticate.

You do not have to do this now and can do it when ever you want, however you will lose access to the restricted parts of the forum after reset tonight and will only regain access once you re-authenticate using the API Key system

^Yeah, such messages first showed up a few months ago. But if the bad grammar isn't a giveaway already, then the missing anet-logo as well as the text that says that this message was sent by another player (and not by anet) should make it obvious that it's a phishing attempt.

I (also) just had to authenticate again.

But I do think that's from a change they have made... I remember reading something about it in the official forums.

I just noticed weird Chinese ip ranges trying to logon to my account.

I suggest you to use "Google Authenticator" linked to your GW2 account. It's very safe...

Im not saying you're hacking me or anything or I would not have authenticated again.
Just needed to disconnect anything I had authorized on my acc.

Just started a new job and yesterday was also the first time I logged on to my GW2 via work computer.
So at the moment im checking out if this pc is compromised.
I just noticed weird Chinese ip ranges trying to logon to my account.
So just wanted to check and see if this issue had occured for other people as well.
