General update
I have gotten around to fixing this issue, so now it will at least correctly report what the problem is.
As for changing the restriction on allowing you to move the api key from one user to another, i am still not sure i will do that, as it causes some issues e.g. for polls if users are allowed to have more than one user that they can move access between

I broke stuff. Temporarily turned off all of the APIs while I sort out some crashing backend server. Planning on turning it back ontodayMonday with some endpoints disabled (/v2/colors and the corresponding /v1 endpoint, at least). Sorry about the mess.

Should be fixed in a few days.
Recommend you request temporary access and revisit the API when the GW2 servers are a bit more stable again.
